Barriers - Plastic
- Durable Material: Constructed from high-quality, UV-resistant polyethylene or LDPE plastic, these barriers are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and resist cracking, splitting, and deterioration for long-term use. All plastic barriers are made in the United States.
- Ballastable Stability: The hollow interior can be filled with water, sand, or slurry to add significant weight (often over 1,000 lbs when full), providing superior stability and protection against impacts or wind.
- Portability: When empty, the barriers are lightweight and can often be carried and set up by one or two people without heavy machinery, making them ideal for rapid deployment and temporary applications.
- High Visibility: Available in bright colors, most notably safety orange, they offer greater visibility than traditional concrete barriers, enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians.
- Energy Absorption: The plastic construction is designed to absorb impact energy upon collision, which minimizes damage to vehicles and reduces the likelihood of serious injury compared to rigid concrete barriers.
- Interlocking Design: Most barriers feature an interlocking or connecting system, allowing multiple units to be linked together to form a continuous, gap-free wall that can conform to different roadway designs.
- Ease of Use: They include a fill hole with a cap for adding ballast and a drain plug at the bottom for quick emptying when it is time to remove or relocate the barrier.
